Published in December 2000, CD "Châteaux de la Loire" (Loire Valley Castles) is the fourth album of the French composer Patrick Broguière. It is inspired by seven of the most beautiful castles of the Renaissance (1490-1580) in the Loire Valley: Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Blois, Chambord, Chenonceau, Montsoreau and Villandry.

The music of the CD mixes the modern sounds (electric guitars, samplers and synthetizers) with the dances (pavane, gaillard, bransle) and the old instruments (crumhorns, flutes, dulcimer) of the Renaissance.

The original engravings, reproduced in the booklet of CD, evoke the elegance of the various castles thanks to the smoothness of the technique of eglomise.
